Ncaa Tournament Tickets - Wac Basketball Projections
WAC basketball teams are all gearing up for the final push of the season, the make-or-break last thrust of the year when everything gets decided. Some WAC teams will make it to the NCAA Tournament, some will make the NIT, and some will go home empty-handed. If you would like to be a part of the action, make sure you get some NCAA Tournament tickets from StubHub.com. Now, let's take a look at a few of the best Western Athletic Conference teams at this late point in the year.
Utah State – If you take a trip out to Logan, Utah, you're going to find plenty of college basketball fans who believe that the Utah State Aggies should be ranked in the AP Poll Top 25. And they'd be right. Utah State isn't exactly an NCAA hoops powerhouse program in the same ilk as, say, North Carolina, Duke and Georgetown, but they do have the record of success this year to grant them admission to the Top 25. The way things are going, Utah St. should wrap up the Western Athletic Conference title and get an easy ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
Despite a somewhat mediocre start, which included a loss to their in-state rivals, Utah, the Aggies have pounded their way to a terrific record of 24-6 overall and 14-2 in the WAC, as of March 3, 2010. The Aggies have won their past 14 straight games, and are getting ready to end the regular season against New Mexico State, a team they should beat easily. One thing that might hold the Aggies back is their lack of experience against some of the nation's best teams. However, in the early season they did beat a very strong BYU team, which gives Aggies fans some hope that this team will be able to get out of the first round of the Tourney.
New Mexico State – The New Mexico State men's basketball team has five team members who average over 10 points per game, so their offense is balanced, and they know how to spread the ball around. However, they've got a problem when it comes to getting into the NCAA Tournament. An at-large bid will be tough to come by for a team that's currently 19-9 overall, and they have not yet proven that they can beat Utah State. That could change when the NMS Aggies play the US Aggies on the sixth of March. If you're interested in seeing a couple of NCAA Tournament hopefuls duke it out for the right to play in the biggest and baddest college basketball tournament in all the land, come check out the New Mexico State Aggies.
No matter which team or teams from the Western Athletic Conference make the NCAA Tournament, you ought to get some tickets and check out the action in March Madness. Who knows? The WAC could provide the NCAA Tournament with this year's Cinderella team, a real March Madness bracket buster that can drive past the big boys all the way to the Final Four in Indianapolis. Only time will tell.
